Better safety, hygiene and comfort for healthcare and caregiving: expanded MODUS tap series
Whether in professional healthcare facilities such as hospitals and doctor’s practices, in care environments or for accessible living, healthcare has some of the toughest requirements for sanitary equipment. Ensuring that the needs of patients, residents and medical personnel are met depends on key factors such as reliable anti-scalding protection, optimum drinking water hygiene, and straightforward and convenient usage. With its expansions to the MODUS series – the wash basin taps MODUS Care EH-T with an ergonomic, extended loop lever and MODUS Care AH with an arm lever – SCHELL is presenting two new solutions specifically designed for high-risk applications within healthcare.
MODUS Care EH-T single-lever mixer: ergonomic design and reliable anti-scalding protection offers an extra level of comfort and safety
The new MODUS Care EH-T single-lever mixer has been designed especially for use in retirement homes and care facilities, and for the accessible fit-out of home bathrooms . The open and extended loop lever with ergonomic tip makes the mixer particularly easy to use, which is a key benefit for people with reduced mobility or weakened grip strength. Thanks to the extended lever action, the tap takes little to no effort to operate, while the open design makes the lever easy to take hold of.
An optimum level of safety is provided by the integrated ThermoProtect system: this maintains the individually adjustable, maximum draw-off temperature even during pressure fluctuations in the system and stops the flow of water automatically if the cold water line fails. This provides effective protection against scald injuries, which is a key safeguard for vulnerable groups of users like seniors or people with motor impairments. Intuitive and hassle-free operation is also made possible by the large and easily visible colour-coded markings for hot and cold water.
MODUS Care AH wash basin tap: hygienic operation with arm lever – designed for hospital staff in high-risk environments
With the MODUS Care AH, SCHELL is launching a new wash basin tap on the market that is designed specifically for use in doctor’s practices, examination rooms, operating theatres and hospitals. The extended arm lever lets medical personnel operate the tap hygienically with their elbow, thereby reducing the risk of bacterial transmission from direct hand contact. The tap is operated in just one dimension. The flow of water starts when the lever is moved to the left and is cold at first. The water becomes hotter as the lever is moved further to the left. Integrated mechanical hot water limiting also permits the individual adjustment of the maximum draw-off temperature with the aim of preventing scald injuries. The MODUS Care AH also features oversized, easily visible colour-coded markings for hot and cold water to ensure quick and easy operation.
High-risk and accessible sanitary facilities: your benefits from these proven solutions in the MODUS fitting series
Alongside the new MODUS Care taps, SCHELL’s MODUS fittings series offers a choice of other well-designed solutions able to meet the toughest requirements in medical and accessible sanitary applications. As one example, the MODUS MD-T shower thermostat offers reliable protection against scald injuries, while the IsoBody technology in the fitting prevents the housing from overheating and therefore ensures a safe showering experience. The MODUS single-lever mixers can be supplied with an open loop lever or designer lever, and with a basic or ThermoProtect cartridge. The MODUS E electronic wash basin tap features a contactless and hygienic triggering of the water flow, which accordingly reduces the risk of disease transmission. This electronic tap also offers the option of performing automatic stagnation flushes.
