SCHELL GRANDIS E kitchen tap a five-times winner with the Plus X Award
Hats off to SCHELL as the GRANDIS E kitchen tap wins the Plus X Award. This product received the Award in no less than five of its categories: for its outstanding quality, its design, its user comfort, its functionality and its ergonomics.
Prize for smart design, long service life and more
The Plus X innovation prize started life as a project to protect and strengthen brands and brand businesses, and aims to highlight products that combine innovative technology with one-of-a-kind designs. The jury also looks for comprehensive functionality, an emphasis on high-quality materials in production and a long life – in accordance with sustainability principles. All of these characteristics and more can be found in the GRANDIS E, which also offers an intelligent control design and a useful set of features for facility managers. Unsurprisingly, the independent jury – made up of trade press, designers and industry experts – was equally impressed by the tap from Olpe-based SCHELL. The Plus X Award is a long-established award that entered its eighteenth year in 2021.
Reliable support for user and drinking water hygiene
The unusual combination of a single-lever mixer with infrared triggering is what makes the GRANDIS E so hygienic and so convenient to use. Thanks to this contactless triggering, the tap never needs to be touched with dirty hands. This helps to protect user hygiene. As a network-ready, electronic fitting, the GRANDIS E tap also supports stagnation flushes out of the box. This offers a real helping hand to facility managers, since it means that the GRANDIS E can trigger the necessary exchange of water automatically in the event of longer periods of non-abuse. In addition, it means that the tap is ideal for use with the SCHELL SWS Water Management System. This, in turn, offers further advantages in relation to support for maintaining drinking water quality. Centralised control via SCHELL SWS also ensures operations are both efficient and economical.
The Plus X Award finds itself in good company with the GRANDIS E: the tap already proved a winner with the German Design Council, who presented it with the German Innovation Award in 2021. Go here to find out more about the GRANDIS E and its award-winning features.
