Simply connected: straightforward app-based commissioning with the new E² faucet series

Fit the faucet, install the app – and set the parameters in no time at all. The latest SCHELL E² faucet generation features Bluetooth® inside as standard, which means it can be commissioned lightning-fast with the matching app and without any other tools being needed. Faucet parameters, stagnation flushes and other settings can be configured easily in the user-friendly app and adjusted at any time when needed with just a few taps – which is a huge time saving and productivity boost for plumbers and fitters.

At a glance: Benefits of the SCHELL app during commissioning work

  • Quick start with Bluetooth® inside: Direct connection between faucet and app without additional tools
  • Time savings: Predefined operating modes and group manager make commissioning easier. No complex parameterisation via short-range reflex is needed.
  • Intuitive operation: Menu-driven app for quick setup and simple administration
  • The right operating mode for any application scenario: Choose from three preconfigured operating modes. Adjustments to settings can be customised further in expert mode.
  • Wide range of functions: From basic faucet parameters to stagnation flushes and logging

Why is commissioning so easy with the new E² faucet series?

Commissioning electronic faucets was never so quick or easy! All possible thanks to Bluetooth® inside: All models in the XERIS E², CELIS E² and PURIS E² series of faucets come equipped with built-in Bluetooth® technology as standard, which means they are easy to connect to the matching app. For installers, this means that no complex parametrisation of the electronic faucets via short-range reflex is required – nor are any additional tools. All that is needed is a mobile device within Bluetooth range, plus the E² app.

Step by step: how to use the app for commissioning

After installing the faucet on the wash basin, only a few steps are needed in the SCHELL E² app to make the faucet ready for use.

  1. Installing the app: You can download the free app onto your smartphone from Google Play or the Apple App Store.
  2. Automatic connection to faucets with Bluetooth® inside: Thanks to the factory-fitted Bluetooth® module, the app automatically detects E² faucets that are in range. These are shown in the app interface.
  3. Simple menu navigation: The app provides handy hints to guide users through setup. Faucets in range can be selected in the app and then have their parameters configured.
  4. Choose from predefined operating modes or set parameters individually: Uses can select one of three predefined operating modes (save water, save electricity or comfort) or switch to expert mode and make individual settings.
  5. Copy faucet profile to other faucets: The SCHELL E² app offers time-saving management functions for faucets of the same model. Once created, a profile can be easily copied to several faucets, which significantly speeds up the commissioning process in a large property.
  6. Use other benefits and functions in the app: e.g. stagnation flushes, thermal disinfection, logging

What are the four different operating modes?

The SCHELL app offers three predefined modes to keep parameter setting as quick as possible. And there is also the expert mode, which can be used to define an individual operating mode. The operating mode that is most suitable for a particular sanitary facility depends on the individual local circumstances as well as customer requirements.

‘Save water’ mode

In the ‘Save water’ operating mode, the flow of water stops more quickly after the user goes out of sensor range. This function leads to significantly lower water consumption, which is especially significant in public or commercial properties, so as to conserve resources and improve operating efficiency.

‘Save electricity’ mode

‘Save electricity’ mode optimises the faucet’s energy efficiency by reducing the sensor frequency. This adjustment leads to an extended battery life, which reduces the volume of maintenance work needed for changing batteries.

‘Comfort’ mode

‘Comfort’ mode starts the flow of water faster and also keeps the water flowing for longer. This makes handwashing a more satisfying experience, as the flow of water is not interrupted if hands are briefly moved out of sensor range.

‘Expert mode’

Alongside the three pre-configured modes, expert mode offers the option of making individual adjustments to the faucets. All of the relevant parameters can be altered – such as the sensor detection range, the flow time and follow-up time – as well as other specific settings, so as to adjust the faucet perfectly to the requirements of the respective property and its users.

Scheduling of stagnation flushes

Planning stagnation flushes to maintain drinking water quality is also particularly quick and easy with the app. With E² faucets, stagnation flushes can be set to trigger not only in intervals – such as every 24 hours or 24 hours after the last use – but can also be configured as part of a fixed schedule series. This makes it easy for facility managers to schedule the flush at times when usage is lower than normal. Smart demand-based flushing is also available, which takes usage on previous days into account. All flushing operations are logged seamlessly in the app.

Smart demand-based flushing

The new, smart demand-based flushing is the perfect symbiosis of drinking water hygiene and saving water. After allowing for the level of usage on the faucet, flushes are recalculated daily and only carried out if they are needed to guarantee an exchange of water. Flushing is skipped if usage levels are high enough. This ensures compliance with the 72-hour rule (VDI 6023) at all times, without wasting water on flushes unnecessarily.

Advanced functions: thermal disinfection and more.

As well as quick and easy parameter setting and the scheduling of stagnation flushes, the SCHELL app offers many additional functions for optimising hygiene. A thermal disinfection can be started via the app from a safe distance. A cleaning stop can be easily switched on or off from the app as well.

Long-term process optimisation with E²

Thanks to the integration of Bluetooth® and the SCHELL app, commissioning the new E² faucet series is quicker and easier than ever. Once things are up and running, the E² faucets and matching app also have many useful features that can simplify the day-to-day work of building operators and facility managers into the long-term.
