Karting des Fagnes in Mariembourg guarantees a great karting day out: not least because its 1,366 m track is one of the longest in Europe. First opened in 1987, the karting track has since been expanded. Karting des Fagnes has already been the venue for many national and international championships. Visitor numbers are increasing every year, with 50,000 drivers using the karting track in 2018, accompanied by huge numbers of people who simply come and watch.

Changing rooms with showers are provided for kart drivers to ensure that their race day at Karting des Fagnes is one to remember. Track visitors are also served by a large cafeteria and a restaurant. A panorama platform offers spectators the perfect trackside view.

Despite their recent successes, the track owners had to address the urgent need for better sanitary facilities. During events, at the weekend and in the holiday season, footfall was particularly high and routine cleaning was becoming almost impossible. The new facilities therefore had to offer advanced fittings that could handle high-intensity use and the occasional attempt at vandalism. The new sanitary fittings also needed to be easier to use while guaranteeing perfect hygiene.

For the wash basins, the investors therefore decided on the rugged SCHELL MODUS E sanitary fitting, which offers hygienic, contactless operation thanks to its infrared sensor. Thanks to the fast actuation and closure offered by the precise and responsive electronic module, this reduces water consumption by more than 62 percent. This is also helped by the integrated flow limiter, which helps to save energy. And acts of petty vandalism are pointless with the MODUS E: all functional components are integrated directly into its high-quality, chrome-finished, all-metal body. This is why MODUS E is able to meet all of the requirements for a wash basin tap in a public sanitary facility from both a facility manager and user perspective.

For the urinals, the investors were keen to focus on security and reliable, durable functionality: the electronic SCHELL EDITION E urinal control consists of a stainless steel front panel and the control electronics, which are located behind the panel for extra protection. The flush system ensures a high level of operational reliability, while automatic flushes are triggered to maintain hygiene, and help reduce maintenance and upkeep to a minimum. At Karting des Fagnes, the EDITION E urinal electronics therefore offer an optimum level of protection against infection as well as general misuse or even deliberate vandalism.
