Founded in 2001, Sapientia University has more than 2,000 students and is one of the newest educational establishments in Romania. Occupying three campuses in Miercurea Ciuc, Târgu Mureş and Cluj-Napoca, the University offers a total of 27 Hungarian-language faculties. Cluj-Napoca campus offers degree courses in Environmental Geography and Management, Film and Media Studies, International Affairs and European Studies, and Law.

For almost a decade, students were taught in the historic Bocskai Building until space became an issue. The Foundation therefore decided to construct a larger building in Calea Turzii. The new building was completed and welcomed its first residents in October 2013. Some 250 students are now enrolled but this number is likely to rise in the future.

To provide optimum hygiene for teachers and students alike, the Sapientia Foundation decided to install high-quality urinal facilities in terms of both the systems and their appearance. The SCHELL products used were the pre-assembled COMPACT II urinal installation modules with flush valve and the EDITION E electronic control system.

For the EDITION E urinal electronics, the planners chose the stainless steel option, which is especially robust and offers excellent protection against vandalism. Concealed behind the front panel, the control electronics offer impressively reliable user detection using infrared distance measurement. Contactless flushes occur after each use as well as after a 24-hour period of non-use. Stagnation flushes are particularly important during the semester holidays, as these prevent the formation of unappealing odours and noticeably improve sanitary facility hygiene.

The COMPACT II pre-wall installation module consists of a self-supporting steel profiled frame with rotatable, height-adjustable feet. The module features a preassembled water path for installing the COMPACT II flush valve as well as an integrated isolating valve. The flexibility offered by the installation module plus the preassembled system components facilitates the simple orientation and dimensionally accurate adjustment of urinal ceramics, as well as quick and secure attachment. Another key aspect was sound insulation, which the installation module achieves by decoupling connections and attachment points from structure-born sound.
