SWS Water Management System helps maintain drinking water quality in any season
The most important precondition for maintaining drinking water quality and avoiding excessive concentrations of Legionella bacteria is a regular and complete exchange of water – across all tapping points and at least every 72 hours. In the peak summer season, this exchange of water can typically be achieved during normal operations at Sonnenhof Campsite. In the off-season, however, the sanitary facilities experience less use or even no use at all. This is where the intelligent Schell SWS Water Management System comes into play, providing optimum support to operators for maintaining drinking water quality with scheduled stagnation flushes. Compared with manual flushes, these are much more efficient and cost-effective, and also use less water. The water management system also saves the family-run business time and human resources, leaving them more time to attend to their guests.
As the system keeps a full record of all relevant data, the operators can prove that they have taken the necessary measures to comply with drinking water legislation at any time.
To be able to carry out the legally prescribed, routine drinking water testing for Legionella according to DIN ISO 19458, a Schell PROBFIX sampling valve was also installed.
PURIS E electronic wash basin tap: optimised user hygiene and reduced water consumption
A total of 25 PURIS E HD-M electronic wash basin taps – one with an extended outlet – plus several MODUS EH-T single-lever mixers were installed on the wash basins in the new sanitary building, which offers dedicated children’s bathroom facilities as well as private rented bathrooms. The PURIS E taps offer contactless operation via infrared sensors: this means that they are particularly hygienic to use and the risk of disease transmission by contact infection is effectively minimised. Tap use is also very economical: water only flows when hands are within the detection range of the sensor. Compared with regular single-lever mixers, PURIS E can cut water and energy consumption by up to 70 percent. The preferred water temperature can be set with the temperature control on the side. Individual tap parameters, such as follow-up time, maximum flow time, sensor range and stagnation flushes, can be programmed centrally on the SWS server. The MODUS EH-T wash basin tap with ThermoProtect cartridge offers reliable protection against scalding. This makes it the perfect choice for the children’s washroom.
Safe showering with anti-scalding protection
In the showers, a total of 13 LINUS D-C-T concealed showers were installed, as well as VITUS shower kits with VITUS hand showers. The LINUS concealed showers feature CVD touch electronics and an automatic closing mechanism. This avoids wasting water, as the flow of water stops automatically after a preconfigured period of time and therefore helps the campsite to achieve sustainable operations. The front panel, made from brass with a brushed stainless steel finish, is particularly robust and easily holds up to high levels of use by the campsite’s many guests. The ThermoProtect thermostat keeps guests as safe as possible when showering, as it offers reliable anti-scalding protection even if the cold water line fails. Especially in shower facilities that may be used by children, this kind of anti-scalding protection is essential to prevent injury from excessively hot water. With the height-adjustable three-jet VITUS hand shower, the VITUS shower kit offers user-friendly showering comfort.
Simply hygienic: EDITION E
In the male sanitary facilities, EDITION E urinal controls were installed, along with MONTUS urinal modules. The infrared sensor on the urinal control detects the user’s presence and releases the pre-set flush volume once the user has left the sensor’s detection range. This is especially hygienic, as no contact with the control is needed. EDITION E urinal controls are WELL-classified fittings, which offers proof of their high level of quality and low water consumption. Thanks to their vandal-resistant design, they are especially robust and durable.
